Guidance For First Time Users
- We advise building up gradually to the recommended serving
- Follow the product label to determine the recommended measure for your dog’s size and weight
- Then take these steps:
- Start with a quarter serving once a day for 3-4 days
- Increase to half a serving a day for 3-4 days
- Increase by a further quarter serving each 3-4 days after this until you’ve reached the recommended full serving for your dog’s size
Adding ProDog Digest Supplement Powder to Wet Dog Food
- Place the usual amount of wet or raw dog food in your dog’s favourite bowl
- Add your serving of ProDog Digest supplement according to your dog’s weight (full instructions are on the side of the ProDog tub). If you are using more than one ProDog nutrition supplement, add the second serving as well
- Stir in well until the powder is fully mixed in with the meal
- Feed!
Adding ProDog Digestive Supplement Powder to Dry Dog Food
- Place the usual amount of dry dog food in your dog’s favourite bowl
- Add your serving of ProDog’s digestive supplement according to your dog’s weight (full instructions are on the side of the ProDog tub). If you are using more than one ProDog nutrition supplement, add the second serving as well
- Add a little cold water to the mixture (call us if you need advice on other suitable options)
- Stir in well until the powder is fully mixed in with the meal
- Feed!

What are digestive enzymes?
Digestive enzymes found in our dog digestive supplements are proteins that help to break down food molecules into smaller pieces. This means that the dog’s digestive system can utilise the nutrients from the food far more effectively. There are 4 main types of digestive enzymes that a dog needs:
- Protease breaks down proteins into amino acids
- Amylase breaks down the starches into smaller carbohydrate molecules
- Lipase helps to digest fats in the diet
- Cellulase breaks down plant and grain fibre. This is not something that is found naturally in a dog’s body so helps to be supplemented.
These enzymes mainly originate in a dog’s pancreas. As the food travels through the dog’s small intestine, digestive enzymes are released from the pancreas breaking down the food components for absorption by the body.
