About FEDIAF guidelines

FEDIAF is the organisation which sets out the nutritional guidelines for all pet food in Europe. FEDIAF nutritional guidelines consist of recommended nutrient levels for pet foods based on scientific review of vast numbers of peer-reviewed pet food nutrition studies.

The recommendations provide minimum and maximum nutrient levels needed to prevent deficiencies from developing or nutrient toxicity from occurring.

Whilst the guidelines are voluntary recommendations, as opposed to legal requirements, we chose to tweak our recipes to meet the standards to offer you even more nutritional quality assurance.

As a dog owner, this means that by feeding ProDog Complete Formula or Puppy Formula raw meals, you can feel confident you are providing the building blocks necessary for optimal canine health.

While FEDIAF guidelines provide recommended nutrient levels, they do not distinguish between synthetic and whole food sources of those nutrients. At ProDog, our expert nutrition team is dedicated to using only whole food ingredients in our raw dog food recipes. This commitment ensures that the nutrients in our food are easily absorbed and assimilated by your dog’s digestive system, just as nature intended. As a result, our products not only meet but exceed FEDIAF standards, ensuring your dog truly thrives.

Excluded from this is our Economy Core range, which includes 5g per 500g of ProDog’s Boost supplement. While primarily a whole food blend, Boost contains a small percentage of highly bioavailable synthetic vitamins and minerals. This vet-approved formulation, created by expert canine nutritionists, allows us to offer FEDIAF standard budget-friendly raw dog food without the premium price tag.
