Supporting Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary

Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary (registered charity number 294606) is an independent rescue charity based just outside Bristol, in Barrow Gurney. It receives no government or lottery funding and runs almost entirely on donations, fundraising and volunteers.

What sets Holly Hedge apart is its open-door policy. Dogs and cats that other shelters can’t, or won’t, take on end up here instead: animals that are elderly, living with long-term health conditions, or carrying behavioural issues serious enough that some services would consider euthanasia rather than rehabilitation. Holly Hedge takes them anyway, caring for hundreds of animals a year on a small core team backed by regular volunteers and public support.

This isn’t tied to one fundraiser. Our ongoing supportand events like ProDog Beach Fest help us to continue spreading the word and raising much needed funds. We’ll be publishing a full Beach Fest round-up separately, but the short version is that events like this now sit alongside our regular giving, not instead of it.
