ProDog Beach Fest 2026 A summer canine experience
weekend like no other.

Volunteer Sign-up

15 & 16 August 2026,
Weston-Super-Mare Beach Lawns

ProDog Beach Fest 2026 runs on the energy of volunteers who care about dogs and want to be part of something that makes a genuine difference. Every role across the weekend contributes to an event that raises money for the Somerset RSPCA and Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary, two charities doing vital rescue and rehoming work for dogs locally.

If you want to be on the ground making it happen, we would love to have you.

What to Expect

Volunteers are split across two shifts on each day of the festival. You are welcome to sign up for a single shift, a full day, or both days. All volunteers receive a full briefing before their first shift.

Morning shift: 9:00am to 1:30pm (fun run stewards start at 8am)

Afternoon shift: 1:00pm to 5:00pm

The 30-minute overlap between shifts is intentional, allowing time for a proper handover so nothing gets missed.

What You Get

Volunteering at ProDog Beach Fest 2026 promises to be an excellent day out for all. Here is what every volunteer receives:

  • Free entry to the festival and access to all activities when not on shift
  • A full briefing before your first shift so you know exactly what to expect
  • A ProDog Beach Fest 2026 t-shirt
  • A bag of ProDog goodies
  • Additional training provided for welfare-focused roles
  • Half price ice creams on site from the Marshfield Ice Box

Volunteer Roles

We have a range of roles across the weekend. Let us know your preference when you sign up and we will do our best to match you. All roles are open to applicants 18 and over.

Activity Marshal

Keep activities running safely and smoothly across the festival site. You will be the person on the ground making sure dogs and owners are where they need to be, that zones run on time, and that everyone is having a good experience. Energy and confidence around dogs is a must.

Registration and Welcome

Be the first face visitors see when they arrive. You will manage ticket check-in, answer questions, point people in the right direction, and set the tone for their day. If you are a people person who is good at staying calm when it gets busy, this one is for you.

Welfare Support

Monitor dogs throughout the event and support our welfare protocols across the site. You will be watching for signs of overheating, distress, or discomfort and working closely with the welfare team to make sure every dog stays safe and comfortable throughout the day. This role involves additional training and a genuine passion for canine welfare.

Zone Teams

Support the delivery of the festival’s activity zones including:

  • Agility
  • Dock diving
  • Flyball
  • Scent detection
  • Puppy zone
  • Wellness zone

Roles vary by zone but typically involve helping to set up, managing participant flow, assisting with demonstrations, and keeping things running safely. Let us know if you have a particular zone you are interested in.

General Stewarding

The role that keeps the whole weekend moving. You will be guiding visitors around the site, answering questions, keeping an eye on the atmosphere, and supporting other teams where needed. A great option if you want variety across your shift.

Kids Zone Volunteers

Anyone volunteering in or around the Kids Zone is required to hold a valid DBS check. Please indicate this on your sign-up form. If you do not currently hold a DBS check and are interested in this role, get in touch and we can advise on next steps.
