Fun Run & Canicross

Take on the Weston-Super-Mare seafront fun run, with or without your dog by your side. This isn’t about podium finishes. It’s about getting out there, enjoying the coastline, and raising money for dogs who need it.

Whether you’re aiming to set a new personal best, take on a new challenge with your dog, or simply walk the route and raise some money for dogs in need, this activity offers a fun and rewarding way for everyone to get involved.

Every runner has the chance to raise their own sponsorship for our charity partners. Hit the £50 fundraising mark and you’ll earn yourself a limited-edition ProDog Charity Beach Festival running tee. Because looking good while doing good never hurts.

Top fundraisers will be celebrated on the day with prizes and plenty of noise. Whether you’re a 5K regular or more of a “let’s see how far we get” type, this one’s for you.

Note: With route options of 1km, 3km, and 5km, the run is designed to be accessible to participants of all abilities. For those who are new to canicross, we strongly recommend choosing one of the shorter distances to ensure both you and your dog have a safe and enjoyable experience.

Dog & Owner Assault Course

Think you and your dog make a good team? Prove it. Navigate the assault course together, over, under, through, and around, and find out just how well you really communicate when there’s an obstacle in the way. It’s challenging, chaotic, and ridiculously fun.

Agility

Navigate tunnels, jumps, and weave poles with your dog in a hands-on agility session designed for all abilities. No experience needed. Throughout the day, experienced handlers will run live demonstrations showcasing advanced techniques, precision handling, and the kind of teamwork that takes your breath away.

Flyball

High-speed, high-energy, and impossible not to get swept up in. Dogs race over hurdles to trigger a ball release before sprinting back. It’s fast, fun, and utterly addictive. Try it out with your dog in our “have a go” sessions, or grab a spot to watch expert teams compete in relay action.

Dock Diving

Dogs. Water. Spectacular leaps. Dock diving is exactly as brilliant as it sounds. Dogs launch off a platform into the water, competing for distance and height. Guided sessions are available so your dog can try it safely, and throughout the day you’ll see demonstration jumps that’ll have the crowd on their feet.

Scent Detection

Put your dog’s most powerful tool to work. Scent detection activities engage natural instincts in a focused, rewarding way. Dogs learn to follow and identify specific scents under expert supervision. Mentally stimulating, confidence-building, and endlessly watchable. Demonstrations from trained scent-detection dogs will show just how extraordinary the canine nose really is.

Competition Zone

Bring your dog’s bragging rights. The Competition Zone runs fun, feel-good challenges throughout the day, including a fetch knockout tournament and fastest recall. It’s friendly competition at its finest, and a chance to celebrate what makes your dog brilliant.

Meet Dr. Nick Thompson

Dr Nick Thompson is ProDog’s consultant vet, founding president of the Raw Feeding Veterinary Society (RFVS), and one of the UK’s leading voices in holistic canine health. Since qualifying in 1992, he has built a career integrating complementary therapies and species-appropriate nutrition alongside conventional veterinary medicine, focusing on addressing the root causes of illness rather than simply managing symptoms.

His holistic approach began early, growing up around homeopathy, acupuncture, and natural health practices, which later shaped his work as founder of The Holistic Vet practice and co-founder of Raw Pet Medics. Today, Dr Nick is widely recognised as a lecturer, educator, consultant, and speaker on raw feeding, canine wellbeing, and integrative veterinary care.

Throughout the weekend at ProDog Beach Fest 2026, Dr Nick will deliver eight live presentations on the main stage, covering topics including canine nutrition, health, raw feeding, titre testing, preventative wellbeing, and modern welfare-focused dog care. Attendees will also have opportunities to ask questions directly during dedicated Q&A sessions across the event.

Alongside his work with ProDog, Dr Nick contributes educational articles and videos covering canine health conditions, nutrition, and welfare, while also sharing his expertise through the Raw Pet Medics podcast and online learning platforms.

ProDog Wellness Zone

This is where ProDog’s whole-dog philosophy comes to life, covering the essentials of dog health beyond the bowl. The Wellness Zone offers expert guidance, hands-on learning, and practical support to help you understand your dog’s health at a deeper level and take home knowledge that supports their long-term wellbeing.

Highlights include:

  • Science-led feeding clinics: speak directly with canine nutrition experts about your dog’s diet, whether you’re exploring new approaches or just curious
  • Behavioural consultations and presentations: learn from qualified behaviourists about common challenges and positive approaches
  • Expert veterinary talks: evidence-based sessions on topics that matter to real dog owners
  • Body condition scoring: learn to assess your dog’s body condition accurately, so you can make informed decisions about their nutrition and exercise
  • Canine Physio & Muscular Health Checks : discover how physical therapy supports mobility, recovery, and everyday comfort
  • Canine first aid demonstrations: gain the confidence to handle common emergencies before they become crises

ProDog Experience Zone

See what biologically aligned nutrition actually looks like. The ProDog Experience Zone puts our products, our team, and our approach in front of you so you can ask questions, try samples, and find out first-hand why thousands of dog owners have made the switch. Whether you’re already feeding raw or just starting to explore what better nutrition could mean for your dog, this is the place to start.

Talk directly with our nutrition team about your dog’s specific needs and take home expert-led feeding guidance tailored to your dog’s breed, age, and lifestyle. Free samples are available so your dog can be the judge. For a deeper conversation about your dog’s specific dietary needs, visit the Welfare Zone feeding clinics.

A great day out. A lifetime of impact.

ProDog turns ten this year. A decade of understanding what dogs need to live well, and this festival is what that looks like in practice. A dog event where the best thing you can do for your dog doesn’t feel like homework. It feels like a great day at the beach. The fun is the point. The impact follows.

Every activity is designed around genuine canine enrichment: sport and play, nutrition clinics, physiotherapy, behavioural support and much more, all guided by leading canine professionals who take your dog’s long-term health and happiness as seriously as you do.

Whether your dog is eight weeks into life or eight years into retirement, there’s something here for them. And you’ll leave with practical dog life hacks and enrichment ideas to build into your dog’s routine for good.

A dog’s years are precious. Two days at ProDog Beach Fest will make yours richer.

FAQ

The Event

Where is ProDog Beach Fest 2026 taking place?

The festival is held on the seafront at Weston-Super-Mare. The main festival site is situated along Marine Parade, with activity zones running across the beach and promenade areas. Full address and site map details will be included in your booking confirmation.

What are the event hours?

The festival runs from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on both days of the weekend, however the canicross event takes place on both days before the main event opens, starting on both days at 8am with registration starting at 7am, and a mandatory safety briefing at 7:45 Please allow extra time for parking and check-in on arrival.

What's included in the ticket price?

All ticket holders have full access to the festival across both days, including:

  • All festival zones and demo stages
  • Social and rest areas
  • Retail village featuring ProDog and partner brands

Activity add-ons (such as agility, dock diving, and the Fun Run) are bookable separately and include a small donation to our charity partners.

Can I attend without a dog?

Absolutely. The festival is open to dog lovers, families, and community supporters. No dog required. There’s plenty to explore across the talks, demos, and retail village, and you’ll be very welcome.

Bringing Your Dog

Can I bring more than one dog?

Yes, multiple dogs are welcome as long as each is safely handled and under control at all times. All dogs must comply with the welfare and equipment guidelines for each activity they take part in.

Are dogs required to be on lead at all times?

Dogs must be kept on lead in all shared festival areas, including the retail village, and spectator zones. Do not use extendable or retractable leads. In a crowded event environment, they can create a serious entanglement risk for other dogs, owners, and children. Use a standard fixed-length lead of no more than 2 metres. Off-lead areas will be clearly marked. Full zoning guidance will be shared in your pre-event information.

Do dogs need to be vaccinated?

All dogs attending must have been vaccinated against core vaccinations, including distemper, parvovirus, hepatitis, and or hold a titre test confirming equivalent immunity. By accepting our ticket T&Cs at checkout owners confirm their dog meets this requirement.

Can I bring a female dog in season?

We respectfully ask that female dogs in season do not attend, for the welfare and safety of all dogs at the event. If your dog comes into season close to the event date, please contact us at [email protected] to discuss your options.

Are there breed restrictions?

Yes. Brachycephalic breeds, including French Bulldogs, Pugs, and similar, are not permitted in the Fun Run due to their increased risk of breathing difficulties and overheating. All other activities are subject to welfare guidelines, and our team will be on hand to advise if you are unsure.

Is the event suitable for reactive dogs?

Reactive dogs may attend the general festival subject to responsible management in accordance with our welfare guidelines which can be found here. Activity participation remains at ProDog’s discretion.

Activities & Add-Ons

How do activity add-ons work?

Activity add-ons allow you to actively participate in specific sessions such as agility, dock diving, or flyball, rather than simply spectating. Each add-on includes a small donation to our charity partners. Pre-booking is strongly recommended as spaces are limited, though subject to availability, some add-ons may be bookable on the day at the activity.

How do I register my dog for a specific activity?

Activity add-ons are available post ticket purchase. You will receive a session time confirmation ahead of the event. On the day, head to the relevant activity zone with your confirmation and allow a few minutes for check-in. If there are still spaces on the day, you will also be able to book an activity at the event.

Is there an age limit for the Fun Run?

There is no strict age limit. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult for all distances, and we recommend that younger children take part in shorter distances for safety and comfort. Dogs of all ages are welcome, provided they are fit and healthy for the distance chosen, if in doubt, check with your vet beforehand.

Getting There & Parking

Is there parking nearby?

Yes, there are several car parks within easy reach of the festival site:

  • Beach Royal Sands
  • Clifton Sands Beach Car Park
  • Marine Parade Parking
  • The Sovereign Car Park
  • Melrose Car Park
  • Carlton Street Car Park
  • NCP Weston-super-Mare High Street
  • Grove Car Park

Parking can get busy during the festival weekend. We recommend arriving early and allowing additional time, particularly on Saturday morning.

Is the event accessible for people with disabilities or mobility needs?

We are committed to making Beach Fest as accessible as possible. The promenade and main festival zones are accessible for wheelchair users and those with mobility aids, though please be aware that some beach-side areas involve uneven or soft terrain. If you have specific access requirements or would like to discuss arrangements in advance, please get in touch at [email protected].

On the Day

Is there food and drink available at the event?

Yes, a selection of food and drink vendors will be on site across both days, including dog-friendly treats and freshwater stations throughout the festival. Full details of catering options will be confirmed closer to the event date.

Are there toilet facilities on site?

Yes. Toilet facilities are available within the festival site. Accessible toilets will be available. Locations will be marked on the on-site festival map.

What should I bring?

To help make your day as smooth as possible, we recommend bringing:

  • A lead for each dog (and a spare if possible)
  • Poo bags — plenty of them
  • Fresh water and a travel bowl
  • Proof of your ticket (digital or printed)
  • Appropriate clothing for the weather
  • Sun cream for sunny days, waterproofs for less sunny ones
  • Any medication your dog requires during the day
  • Check your dog’s ID tag is up to date before you travel.
Can I purchase ProDog products or merchandise at the event?

Yes, the ProDog stand will be fully stocked across both days, with products available to purchase on the day. Other partner brands will also be represented in the retail village. Keep an eye on our social channels for any exclusive event offers ahead of the festival.

Weather & Safety

What happens if the weather is bad?

We plan for all conditions, and contingency arrangements will be in place depending on the forecast. Activity modifications or cancellations may be made where dog welfare or attendee safety requires it. All updates will be communicated via email, on our website, and through our Instagram and Facebook channels in advance and throughout the day. We recommend following our social channels in the lead-up to the event.

Donations & Volunteering

Where do donations go?

All donations raised at Beach Fest are split equally between our two charity partners:

  • RSPCA — the UK’s largest animal welfare charity
  • Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary — supporting local dog rescue and rehoming in the South West

Donations are collected through activity add-on purchases and any optional giving at the event.

Can I volunteer for just one day?

Yes. Volunteer roles are divided into four shifts across the weekend, and you are welcome to sign up for just the shift or shifts that suit you. Volunteer information and sign-up details will be shared on our website and social channels ahead of the event.

Tickets & Booking

What is the refund policy?

Tickets are non-refundable, except in the event of full festival cancellation by ProDog. For full details, please refer to our Refund Policy page. This information is also included in your ticket confirmation email.
